There are only 13 reptile and amphibian species native to the UK and you can find a few of them here at Wyke. Occasionally you will see a grass snake lying in a sun-lit area on a woodland path – they are totally harmless. In the Spring you can spot countless common frogs and the not-so- common toads making their way to the pond. They will not stop to greet you nor be scared off: they are on a mission to find a mate so very little will get in their way!
