Neovison vison

A non-native, invasive species, mink escaped from fur farms in the 1950s and 60s. They are now widespread across most of the UK except the far north of Scotland.

Farmland, Wetlands

Mink are active predators and strong swimmers, feeding on anything they are big enough to catch. They are a particular threat to the native Water Vole and seabird populations.

They can be seen all year round.
